New challenges

- Kevin Graham

It’s not the way you want to end a championship season. A defeat and an unbeaten home record gone. But, truthfully, we haven’t had many home comforts this season. It’s like we have been living with an eviction notice and awaiting the chap at the door.

That chap came after seven draws. We failed to score in five home games this season and, overall, for the first time since 2006, we have averaged fewer than two goals per game.

The last post will sound for some of the squad on Saturday. It is clear some need new challenges, others have peaked and will benefit from a move. We hope those who remain find that irresistible form and new heroes will hit the ground running. It’s a big summer. Hopefully we will send the players off with a bang of confetti.
