Opportunity knocks

So it wasn’t to be. County’s match at St Johnstone couldn’t have started in a better manner but Partick Thistle’s win at Dundee prevented any last-minute miracle from happening.

I can’t deny being upset over relegation, but crisis brings opportunity and I hope to see the management develop the long-term strategy that has been heavily hinted at in the last year. County have a good nucleus of a squad contracted already, many of whom are capable of being leading players in the Championship, while a number of players who can make an impression are ready to graduate from the reserves. It has been some achievement to spend a quarter of the post-highland League years in the top flight. I am sure County will get there again.
