Bid to find £2bn global investment in Scotland
Nine development projects worth more than £2bn to the Scottish economy will be touted to investors around the world as part of a UK government promotion blitz, International Trade Secretary Liam Fox will announce today.
At a meeting of the Board of Trade in Stirling, Mr Fox will commit his department to promoting 68 multi-million pound development schemes across the UK, including the Edinburgh International Business Gateway, the Dundee Waterfront, and Buchanan Wharf in Glagsow.
UK government help “will deliver growth where it is most needed, ensuring that the benefits of global investment are felt in every part of the country,” Mr Fox said. Chancellor Philip Hammond will also be in Scotland today to meet financial tech firms in Edinburgh.
