Specialist in timber lays foundations in England
A business describing itself as one of Scotland’ s largest off site timber frame specialists has launched a permanent sales office and showroom in England, where it aims to treble turnover over the next three years.
Established in 1989, Scotframe has 160 staff and a £35 million turnover. It has manufacturing facilities in Inverurie, where it is based, and Cumbernauld as well as sales offices and showroom sat Inverness and Dundee.
It was bought by SaintGo ba in–a global group with 18,000 employees in the UK–in November, a move S cotframe believes will help accelerate its growth across England, where its an nu a lt ur nover is £ 2.5m. It is boosting operations at the National Self Build and Renovation Centre in Swindon, and is hiring a member of staff who will be based there.
Malcolm Thomson, sales director at Scotframe, said Scotland is a leader in timber frame construction, but he sees the market share in England “steadily rising and I believe this trend will continue”.
