Fyvie agrees to extend his United stay

- By IAIN COLLIN

Dundee United have fought off competition from Ross County to agree a new two-year deal with Fraser Fyvie.

The former Hibernian, Aberdeen and Wig an midfielder joined the Tangerines last summer but missed the second half of the campaign after picking up cruciate knee ligament damage in December.

The 25- year- old is expected back in action in August and was identified as a target for County this summer as they rebuild for life after relegation to the Championship. However, the Scotland under- 21 cap has instead opted to stay for another promotion push at Tannadice next term.

He said: “I am delighted to continue my career here at United. I was enjoying my football last season, and the club has been excellent during my rehab. As I continue towards full fitness, I cannot wait to get back out playing for United.”
