What’s the last piece of clothing you bought?

A new summer suit from Massimo Dutti – I love the relaxed European vibe. I’m hoping our Scottish summer includes sunshine and I’ll be able to wear it. If not, it will be perfect for any holidays abroad.

What are you addicted to buying?

Navy blazers and striped tops. They tick the box for smart and casual occasions.

Best ever bargain?

My Kenzo dinner suit. It wasn’t much of a financial bargain but the use and longevity I’ve had from it is amazing; 22 years later, I’m still wearing it.

Who has great style?

Tom Ford. He always looks so well put together, even with stubble.

Name your favourite high street shop and why?

Massimo Dutti and Zara. Both are effortlessly affordable.

Any fashion disasters you’d care to tell us about?

Brown corduroy dungarees and Kickers boots in the Eighties. What was I thinking?

What’s your favourite item in your wardrobe?

I have the most spectacular collection of kilts, including combat, white wool and black leather ones in my wardrobe. I love kilts and preach all the time that they’re not just for black tie occasions or special celebrations. n
