Sunshine on Leith
It’s more than a decade since Stephen Greenhorn wrote his great Proclaimers tribute musical for Dundee Rep; but now, its original director James Brining has created a brand-new staging of the show for his current theatre, West Yorkshire Playhouse, that’s set to tour Scotland this summer. Paul-james Corrigan and Steven Miller star as returning squaddies Davy and Ally, in this hardedged love-song to Leith, beautifully woven around a mighty playlist of classic Proclaimers songs, from We’re On Our Way and Letter From America , to Sunshine On Leith itself. King’s Theatre, Edinburgh, 22-26 May; and on tour to Aberdeen, Glasgow and Inverness, www.wyp. org.uk
