#INDYREF2

The SNP will fire the starting gun on a renewed debate around independence with the publication of a long-awaited report on the economy of an independent Scotland. @Richardsstuart said: “I honestly believe that with everything that’s happened since the first #indyref and with everything that turned out to be lies if we stayed, I think if there is an #indyref2 then we’ll vote ‘Yes’.” @arennie44 stated: “@ Nicolasturgeon is full of xenophobic for all things south of the border. She is promoting Racism with her pathological hatred and obsession with WM.” While @mistert1966 posted: “You had a vote. The nation decided. End of. You don’t keep voting until you get the result you want! It’s called democracy.”

#CURRENCY

Meanwhile, it was also reported that Scotland will create its own currency if it votes for independence in a new referendum. @sabahmjalal said: “If Scotland becomes independent and can remain in the EU the currency will most likely become the Euro.” @Indy_or_bust disagreed: “Why do people still peddle this nonsense that Scotland would have to use the Euro as a currency post #Scotref? It’s a complete lie. Of the recent nations that have joined the EU – how many of them have elected to change their currency to the EU?” While @rooba63 wasn’t happy: “Have you got savings? Would you like to see your hard-earned cash converted to junk currency overnight? That’s what @ Nicolasturgeon’s and @ thesnp’s new bawbee would do.”

#DOUBLE TREBLE

A 2-0 Scottish Cup final win over Motherwell saw Celtic secure their second consecutive treble, a feat completed by only two European clubs before, current French champions PSG and Welsh league winners TNS. Football pundit and former Celt @chris_sutton73 said: “Invincibles to History makers Outstanding achievement from Brendan Rodgers and the Celtic team.” Scottish Government minister @Humzayousaf joked: “Best moment of the 2nd half - Douglas Ross MP decks it a belter! Can’t wait to see the meme...”
