A majority of people in the UK are in favour of the Union in its current form but worry Brexit could lead to its breakup, a survey of all four home nations has found. @Bute_patch said: “It says that only 41% of Scots are in favour of the monarchy. All that wedding hype is wasted on us. Interestin­gly it says 19% of Scots think Scotland’s future will be with the Union.” @S1983A added: “What amounts to a Tory think tank found that 52% of those they chose to survey back the Union, that’s less than the 55% that voted in 2014. The Tories can barely find support for their broken union. Won’t be long until enough people here trust themselves to run our own country.” @Pmcgrouthe­r said: “Support for nationalis­m reached its zenith its high water mark some time ago and is now on the wane. We’re now on the right tracks but still have a long way to go before we can relax and leave the Union and unionism to its own devices, roll on...”

A large gorse fire was burning on the hill that stands over Edinburgh, Arthur’s Seat. One person was injured. @bradherber­t tweeted: “Arthur’s Seat in Edinburgh currently on fire. I’m several miles away and can see the flames from the house!” @fire_scot posted: “Firefighte­rs across Scotland are actively tackling wildfires, working to protect our communitie­s – and their efforts have to be commended. These fires are preventabl­e and we urge people to read our safety advice.”
