Blair Castle celebrates record visitor numbers

-

0 The Perthshire attraction saw just over 130,000 people visit during 2017-18, up from 118,500 Blair Castle and Country Park has hailed record visitor numbers to the Perthshire attraction.

Some 130,000 people visited during the 2017-18 season, which culminated at the end of March this year, up from 118,500 in 2016-17.

The robust growth has been attributed to the weak pound and the strength of the euro, which has resulted in a “significant” increase in the number of tourists from across mainland Europe.

Julia Sim, head of sales and marketing, said: “Direct flights from Glasgow and Edinburgh to Dubai and Canada have also benefited the attraction, as it has encouraged more longhaul visitors from Australia and North America to come and venture beyond the cities to experience other parts of Scotland.

“It’s not just independent travellers that have been coming. There has been an excellent level of UK coach trips… which has been encouraging as it demonstrates the ongoing power of staycationing.”
