A bumper new Outlander map has been released by Scotland’s tourism body with almost 40 filming locations now included in the guide.

To celebrate its launch, an international group of Outlander fans road tested the map on a ten-day tour of the locations featured in the latest series of the hugely successful time-travelling romance.

Among destinations on the tour was the The Signet Library in Edinburgh – one of seven new locations in the show’s third series that was used to portray the governor’s house in Jamaica.

Glasgow University, which doubles as Harvard University, and Craigmillar Castle in Edinburgh, which portrayed Ardsmuir Prison, are also included.

Kelvingrove Park replicated a park in Boston, while Bakehouse Close on the Royal Mile was used as the set for the print shop run by lead character Jamie Fraser.

Tweeddale Court, also on the Royal Mile, featured as the market place where characters Claire Fraser and Fergus reunited. And in Ayrshire, Dunure Harbour was used to portray the docks at Ayr.
