Scotsheep offers a chance to quiz industry experts

- By BRIAN HENDERSON

Scotland’s sheep farmers will have the opportunity to quiz some of the industry’s leading experts at a series of workshops and seminars at next week’s Scotsheep.

Next Wednesday’s oneday event is held every two years and this year takes place at Robert and Caroline Dalrymple’s sheep and beef farm – Kings Arms Farm at Ballantrae in South Ayrshire.

No fewer than 16 speakers will take part in four separate hour-long seminars which will look at the impact Brexit will have on trade in one of the sectors most reliant on exports to Europe, while marketing and support, the next generation and sheep health issues will be discussed.

Organisers the National Sheep Association (NSA), said the seminar programme would be complemented by three half-hour workshops aimed directly at the thousands of sheep farmers expected to attend the event from across Scotland, the north of England and Ireland.

“The seminars are set to create huge interest with a tremendous line-up of speakers, all recognised experts in their particular field,” said organising committee chairman George Allan.
