Two- year- old in serious state after car crash NEWTON STEWART

A two-year-old boy is in a serious condition after being hurt in a car crash in south- west Scotland.

The single - vehicle accident happened at 7: 55am on Tuesday on the B7085 W ha up hill to PortWillia­m road, close to Newton Stewart.

A 22- year-old woman and the toddler were airlifted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Glasgow for treatment.

The crash involved a white Vauxhall Corsa. The road was shut for seven hours before reopening.

Police have appealed for more informatio­n about the incident.
