Ministers were told about NHS cash row
Health Secretary Shona Robison’s office was told four years ago that NHS Tayside had mis-spent charity endowment cash on backroom functions, it has emerged.
Ms Robison faced claims it was “disingenuous” to say the Scottish Government did not know about the scandal after details were contained in a report it received from by accountants PWC in 2014. Ms Robison told MSPS the charity endowment cash issue was not specifically “red-flagged” with the Scottish Government.
But Labour’s Jenny Marra said: “I think … it is disingenuous for the Scottish Government to say they didn’t know when this report with this information landed on your desk.”
A damning report this week unveiled the full extent of financial mismanagement and bad governance at NHS Tayside.
