Sheer hypocrisy

I note in your report (23 May) “Scots civic leaders launch declaration to prevent Brexit” that therein they cite “Scotland voted clearly and decisively... to remain within the EU”. Only 42 per cent of the Scottish electorate so voted. This contrasts with 47 per cent of the electorate voting in 2014 to remain in the UK. How many of the Snp-leaning signatories to that declaration ever cite that result as a clear and decisive/overwhelming indication of the electorate’s views? RONALD JOHNSTON
