Same old nationalis­t tactic. Pander to avarice and greed. No discussion about how to make Scotland a fit country to bring up our children in. No mention of how to address the needs of the poor, the old, the sick and the vulnerable. No mention of how to heal the gaping wound they have inflicted on our beautiful country. Only more salt.

Persona Non Grata After the White Paper shambles of pre-2014, does anyone seriously believe this rubbish? No economy with a 12 per cent deficit and a bunch of socialist morons in charge will ever see its people better off – period. Let’s give the SNP some credit this extra £4k could actually be a true figure. But they are missing out the bit about extreme inflation, so we may well be better off on paper but the paper money in our pockets would be worthless.

Mike Lowery Politician­s and civil servants are not what makes a country successful (if you accept prosperity as a measure of success). For that you need business people ready to invest and to do that they need confidence in the government. If you want to know how well the Scottish Government has performed in inspiring that confidence, look at the relative growth figures across the UK.
