Teenage boy badly beaten up by gang

Detectives are appealing for information after a 14-year-old boy was seriously assaulted on Saturday.

The incident took place in Milngavie after the youngster and two friends were approached by a group of youths. They attacked the victim, who was repeatedly punched and kicked on the head and body.

He suffered a broken jaw, collarbone, rib and finger before managing to run away. He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment and was later released.
