Celebration: Scott portrait lands at Discovery Point
A portrait of Antarctic explorer Captain Robert Falcon Scott, created by renowned Scottish artist Calum Colvin, has been unveiled at Discovery Point in Dundee.
The painting is one of two works by Colvin donated permanently to Dundee Heritage Trustbythescottandamundsen Art Syndicate. The second portrait features Norwegian polar explorer, Roald Amundsen and will be exhibited later in the year. The arrival of the portrait is well timed, as 6 June will mark 150 years since Captain Scott’s birth in 1868.
