Woman spat at and punched outside casino

A woman was spat at and assaulted in an “unprovoked attack” outside a casino, police say.

Police in Edinburgh are appealing for witnesses following the assault at around 1:05am on Sunday near the Fountain Park complex.

Police say a man in his teens or early 20s attacked a 35-year-old woman outside the casino. A 48-yearold man intervened and was punched in the face by the suspect, who fled the scene. The Scottish Ambulance Service attended and the man was taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for minor injuries.
