Clyde crem opens after RBS funding agreement

- By SCOTT REID

A new crematorium has been opened in Largs thanks to a seven-figure funding package from Royal Bank of Scotland.

The Clyde Coast and Garnock Valley Crematorium is set within the Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park and will serve Ayrshire along the North Clyde Coast and Garnock Valley.

The crematorium has been developed by father and son Jim and Jeremy Hamilton, and their business partner, Stephen Byfield. After the Hamilton family was struck with bereavement, they found themselves waiting weeks for a local crematorium due to the demand in the area.

The development is also set to create five full-time jobs.

Clyde Coast and Garnock Valley Crematorium is part of Horizon Cremation, a venture established by the business partners, which has attracted further multimillion funding to roll out additional facilities across the UK.

Jeremy Hamilton, director of Horizon Cremation, said: “Our goal is to provide exceptional service.”
