#ROSEANNEBARR

Comedian Roseanne Barr has partly blamed Ambien for the tweet about a former Obama aide that led to her show’s cancellation, but the maker of the insomnia drug quickly retorted that “racism is not a known side effect”. @pattymlt pointed out: “Ambien does cause disinhibition which shows us who you really are.” @vanraven posted: “It’s not Roseanne’s fault. She took a racism pill that night. It also heightened her lucidity. Ahh.. so that’s her secret!” @Cryptosis51 added: “If Roseanne Barr’s use of Ambien caused racist tweeting, one can only imagine what drugs have penetrated the system of Donald Trump.”

#CHANNEL4

Glasgow is among seven cities and regions to make the second stage of the pitch process for Channel 4’s new national HQ and creative hubs. The broadcaster will move 300 staff out of London to three new bases next year in the biggest change to its structure in its 35-year history. @Nickblairmurray posted: “Channel 4 getting serious about a move to Glasgow? Certainly makes sense. An incredibly vibrant city with an intense creative drive as well as a deep talent pool to draw from.” @spaandrews countered: “Looks like just about every major conurbation with the exception of London has made Channel 4’s new HQ location shortlist.”

#BABCHENKO

Russian journalist Arkady Babchenko, who was reported to have been shot dead on his porch in Kiev, turned up alive at a press conference 24 hours later. The prominent Kremlin-critic was taking part in a secret Ukrainian operation to catch the people who threatened his life. His wife and six children were unaware of the plot. @maxseddon said: “Bet you didn’t see this lateseason finale twist in year 4 of the Russia-ukraine war. Apparently the whole thing was staged so that they could catch the people who ordered the hit. And it is normal becausesherlock Holmes did it.” @polina__ivanova added: “There have been hundreds of obituaries for Babchenko published in Russia today by his colleagues, friends, enemies... which he can now read. Speechless.” @Miriamelder exclaimed: “SIX KIDS *faints*.”
