Change of leader for Gym Group

The Gym Group founder John Treharne is to step down as chief executive in September after ten years at the helm of the firm, it was announced yesterday.

Treharne will remain as director, and his replacement in the top job will be finance chief Richard Darwin, the company added. Treharne has grown the firm from just a single gym to its current portfolio of 133, and oversaw its initial public offering in 2015.
