The Atlanta Braves staged a late rally to secure a 7-6 victory against the New York Mets. Johan Camargo’s walk-off home-run, hit off Gerson Bautista, capped the comeback in the ninth inning for the Braves, who trailed 6-2 at the start of the seventh inning. It was Atlanta’s third walk-off win in the past four home games. The New York Yankees also came back from behind in their match-up with the Houston Astros. Brett Gardner’s second home run tied the scores in the ninth inning, before Gleyber Torres took a gamewinnin­g hit to lead the Yankees to a 6-5 victory. In Pittsburgh, Anthony Rizzo’s homer in the seventh inning set off a threerun rally to help the Chicago Cubs beat the Pirates 8-6. Meanwhile, the Washington Nationals scored their fifth consecutiv­e victory with a 3-2 win over the Baltimore Orioles, while the Boston Red Sox matched their second-best start in the team’s history by defeating the Toronto Blue Jays 8-3. Sandy Leon starred with a home run and two doubles as the side won for the eighth time in 10 games. Michael Wacha did not allow a hit until the fifth inning, or a run until the seventh, as the St Louis Cardinals toppled the Milwaukee Brewers 6-1. And Michael Brantley extended his hitting streak to 18 games to help the Cleveland Indians triumph 7-3 over the Chicago White Sox. In Detroit, Ian Kinsler faced his former side the Tigers – and took a three-run homer to lead his new team the Los Angeles Angels to a 9-2 victory.
