Messing about on the river: Boathouse project gets boost with grant to develop ‘riverside community’
The Lord Provost of Glasgow, Eva Bolander, and Glasgow Building Preservation Trust’s Anne Mcchlery celebrate the award of a grant from the National Lottery for the Rejuvenation of the West Boathouse on Glasgow Green. The project, which aims to open up the River Clyde, will redevelop the historic timber structure into a fully shared and accessible facility to enable a variety of groups to utilise the building and gain easier access to the river. It also hopes to remove barriers to allow people enjoy and share the social, physical and psychological benefits of being part of a diverse river community.
