Widespread Visa payment problems

Visa card payments were failing across the UK and Europe last night.

The company said it was working towards resolving the problem.

Visa users took to social media to complain while the Bank of England was said to be aware of the issue and in touch with Visa.

A Visa spokesman said: “Visa is currently experiencing a service disruption. This incident is preventing some Visa transactions in Europe from being processed.

“We are investigating the cause and working to resolve the situation.”
