WSP gets on board with Stirling rail development

-

Stirling’s railway station is set to be transformed following the appointment of engineering consultancy WSP as designer for the project.

The redevelopment will see the creation of a new station forecourt area, which aligns with improvements already being made by Stirling Council to enhance routes to the city centre and its bus station.

WSP and experts from the consultant’s Glasgow-based rail, development and landscape teams will collaborate to provide detailed design serv- ices for the forecourt. David Campbell, development technical director at WSP, said: “We… look forward to working with Scotrail and their partners in delivering this project. This complements our involvement with Stirling Council on the Falkirk, Clackmannanshire and Stirling Framework which aligns with the area’s masterplan.”

Ian Mcconnell of Scotrail Alliance said: “Stirling is ready for a station that matches the dynamic and forward-looking development of the cityscape.”
