Body found in search for missing student

The family of a student who went missing more than two months ago has been told of a body being discovered.

Officers were called to West Sands beach, St Andrews, on Sunday after human remains were found in the water.

Duncan Sim, 19, went missing on 14 March after leaving Madras Rugby Club in the town at about 11:15pm.

Formal identification has not taken place but family members have been informed.

A Police Scotland spokesman said inquiries remain ongoing at this time.
