The fruit growers had adequate warning of likely labour shortages, with Brexit being just one of the factors. It struck me as strange, therefore, to see even more land taken up this year by poly tunnels.

Floor of Scotland If you have over 100 000 people on benefit, why the need to bring in a workforce from other countries?

Medi1one They need to think outside of the box. As well as refusing to pay benefits to those who refuse to work, training could be offered about jam making, selling of jam jars, jelly pans, etc. What about a return to pick your own? There is always a way to do things .

johnenosee The English government will never agree to anything that puts Scotland on an equal footing. It’s these very controls over us that allow the English to tailor policies to keep their advantage. How else could they keep us poor and dependent? British subjects, as we all are, should stand united and leave the EU in respect of the vote. It makes no difference if your vote was Remain or Leave, what matters is we leave the EU and honour the British people and the British spirit of democracy.

Med1aone Not on your job description, Mikey! Your views on Brexit are about as important as those of the Chairperson of Auchtermuchty Community Council (with apologies to Auchtermuchty). Just get on with your day job!

Proud Scot All I’m waiting on at the moment is the Supreme Court judgement. I expect many other readers are waiting on it too.

Hoditandodit The UK Government’s policy of ignoring Russell and the SNP are in the best interests of the UK. £120k equates to £3 each for the supposed proindy marchers (40,000 supposedly on march in Glasgow), enough to buy each one a Mars Bar, bottle of coke and some crisps.
