Disruptive spirit: Entrepreneurial trio debuts blended malt to shake up market

-

A trio of Edinburgh-based entrepreneurs have launched a blended malt Scotch whisky to shake up the market and challenge traditional perceptions of the spirit. Pictured from left are Andrew Skene, Alexander Harrison and Tom Melville, who are behind Black Tartan, an “improper Scotch” looking to defy the “elitist” view of “thou shalt not mix” whisky and made of single malts made in the Highlands. They say blended malt is a “relatively untapped” part of the market, and see strong growth potential for the product, eyeing the UK, rest of Europe and Asia-pacific.
