Just say Yes

-

John Ferry (Letters, 7 June) has not read the Growth Commission report as it sets out to match the richest, healthiest and happiest countries in the world through increasing public expenditure year on year while rejecting the UK’S low wage and low economic growth model.

Independence is one of the options open to the people of Scotland to choose a different course – which is why it’s right that we have a debate on what an independent scotland could look like and how independence can help us achieve our ambitions for the country.

After two years of debating how we manage the real economic damage of Brexit, it is surely very refreshing to be discussing a positive vision of the future and the immense economic opportunity open to Scotland.

Importantly, this debate is not about overlooking or shying away from challenges – every country in the world faces challenges.

The SNP and the wider Yes movement are coalitions of positive people with different visions for our country. The whole point of independence is that we in Scotland will make these democratic decisions by getting the government most people vote for, not, as usually happens, one voted for by the people of England.
