Fowler to play Scottish Open

Rickie Fowler is to play in next month’s Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Open at Gullane, scene of the American’s victory in the event in 2015.

The world No 7 produced a brilliant shot at the last hole to finish a stroke ahead of compatriot Matt Kuchar and Frenchman Raphael Jacquelin at the East Lothian venue.

“Gullane is a special place for me and I can’t wait to get back there. I love links golf,” said Fowler, who will join Kuchar, Justin Rose and Henrik Stenson in a strong field from 12-15 July.
