Police launch appeal after ‘wilful fireraising’
Police have appealed for witnesses after a wilful fireraising incident at a quarry in Moray.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were called to a “significant” gorse fire at Clashach Quarry in the village of Hopeman at 3:30pmonthursday.officers have urged the public to avoid the area as there is a risk the fire could flare up again. Sgt Scott Brander said: “Patrols will be carried out in the area over the weekend but we are urging people to avoid the area. There are a number of coastal paths which include the area East of Hopeman Golf Course.”
