A thousand hikers take part in charity yomp

-

More than 1,000 hikers marched through the hills and glens of Perthshire and Angus this weekend in one of Scotland’s toughest endurance challenges.

A total of 1,019 hardy souls signed up for this year’s record-breaking Cateran Yomp, which saw soldiers and civilians marching side-by-side on a roundthe-clock 54-mile circuit. Organisers said the event, now in its eighth year, was a huge success despite a mixed bag of weather with heavy downpours yesterday. Since its launch, the challenge has made more than £3m for the ABF Soldier’s Charity.
