Here comes trouble: Dennis the Menaces flood library to launch reading challenge

Pupils from Battlefield Primary School in Glasgow dressed as Dennis the Menace invade nearby Langside Library to promote this year’s Tesco Bank Summer Reading Challenge.

The initiative encourages four- to 11-year-olds to read six books from their local library over the summer holidays, which start in Glasgow in two weeks’ time.

Run in conjunction with the Reading Agency group, it takes place when reading levels normally dip.

This year’s challenge is themed as Mischief Makers to celebrate the 80th birthday of The Beano comic, in which Dennis first appeared.
