What’s the last piece of clothing you bought?

Navy, white and black T-shirts. These are a main staple for me, so I’m always replenishing my stocks when they are looking a little tired.

What are you addicted to buying?

Trainers. These days, comfort is becoming a key thing for me. I tend to mix these with tailoring now rather than my Englishmade shoes.

Best ever bargain?

While travelling in Japan a few years back, when the exchange rate happened to be particularly favourable, I saw a nice Tag Carrera watch in duty free that I had been coveting in the UK. I got out my calculator, worked out the saving and quickly snapped it up at its no-duty price.

Who has great style?

There are many style icons and creators that I admire from afar or have collaborated with, but two that stand out that both have a clean look with great detail are Jil Sander and Yohji Yamamoto.

Name your favourite highstreet shop.

I travel a lot for work, so tend to buy things when I’m away, but I’m still a big fan of M&S for my undies.

Any fashion disasters you’d care to tell us about?

There have been too many, too often, so it’s hard to isolate just one, apart from the normal guy thing of wearing two differentcoloured socks without noticing.

What’s your favourite item in your wardrobe?

My navy two-button blazer, which is, without question, the most versatile piece of clothing around; it goes with a crisp smart shirt or fresh new T-shirt. n
