#GSAFIRE

On Friday night, the iconic Glasgow School of Art went up in flames for a second time in four years. @illustrationetc posted: “Oh @GSOFA, I’m so sorry. There’s already been such an outpouring, so I’ve added to it. I’m utterly crushed. Thinking of all students, graduates and staff of GSA tonight.” @Roguecoder250 added: “We’re told that @fire_scot pumped water from the Clyde to help battle the #gsafire. Just look how far the @GSOFA is from the Clyde. Imagine the superhuman effort required to run hoses and pumps that distance. So very proud of our firefighters.” @Katrinabrown said: “Pics of the Mac from just a few weeks ago. So much work done – it was so close to being its former glorious self after the 2014 fire. Devastating to see the news last night. Just cannot believe it.”

#WORLDCUP

As the World Cup got underway on Friday, fans have been enjoying the games, which have included some surprise goals, results and a lot of love for Iceland, who drew against Argentina. @Alex_houseof308 commented: “#ARGISL #Worldcup Argentina fans were begging Messi to score, but in the spirit of Cece Winans, Messi said nooooo.” @Optajoe added: “Since 1966, only Luigi Riva has attempted more shots in a World Cup game (13 vs both Sweden and Israel in 1970) without scoring than Lionel Messi did today against Iceland (since 1966). Shocker.” Bahmankalbasi tweeted: “I can now breath. What a 2 hours that was. #IRAN #Worldcup.”

#NHS

Theresa May announced yesterday that the NHS will get an extra £384 million a week after Brexit. MSP Michael Russell, @ Feorlean, reacted: “As it is absolutely clear now that the cost of leaving the #EU is greater than staying, the Prime Minister’s claims about funding the #NHS through a #Brexit “dividend” are simply false. A new low ,even for her .... ” @jonnywoo34 added: “Every single #Brexit impact study says we will be worse off. Yet there is suddenly a #Brexitdividend. I can’t believe people actually fall for this rubbish. But they do. Repeatedly. #Marr #Peston #NHS”.
