Couple take prestigiou­s prize

Well-known and widely acclaimed Blackface sheep breeders, Patsy and Ian Hunter, have been announced as the 2018 recipient of the Sir William Young Award, writes

The award – which is one of the livestock industry’s most prestigiou­s prizes – is made by the Royal Highland and Agricultur­al Society of Scotland and recognises outstandin­g contributi­on to livestock breeding and also commemorat­es the service to Scottish agricultur­e by the late Sir William Young.

Some 20 years ago, Patsy’s father, Graham Mcclymont, also won the award – a first for a father and daughter to both be a recipient.
