That’s rich?

-

Scotland’s total household wealth has exceeded the £1 trillion barrier for the first time, but is unevenly distributed and behind the rest of the UK, a report said.

Just another load of meaningless figures to make us feel jealous and resentful.

The Ayrshire Bard The report , of course under Tory direction , fails to mention Londons affect on the RUK figures! Now some might say London is in the RUK and that’s correct. But the wealth in London isn’t! It belongs to Saudis, Russians etc.

Cluaran Wealth to me is what’s in your savings account/isas / investments ie your personal liquidity, followed by your private pension account; with property mortgage and little liquidity, you’re asset rich but cash poor

Exactly, anything that demands expenditure in the form of tax, maintenance, and insurance could be considered a liability rather than an asset on a balance sheet.

Old Clothes and Porridge Agreed – and if you exclude housing from the equation the average Scot is wealthier than the average RUK according to these figures

Dickie Tea The wealth gap has always been there – largely as a result of economic policies designed to suit London and the south – think Maggie Thatcher. The real question is: has the wealth gap closed in the reign of the SNP? I think it probably has, despite severe limitations on its control of financial levers etc.

pcnich The tax inequality introduced by the SNP will make Scotland poorer on average because top earners are already moving away.

Do you have proof of that? Given that for a century, under Unionist control, Scots have traditionally moved south because of lack of opportunity.

Bob Clark Money started moving out of Scotland pre-indyref and will continue to do so, especially now the SNP have hiked income tax rates.

Hazel Smith Money started moving out of Scotland pre-indyref and will continue to do so, especially now the SNP have hiked income tax rates in Scotland.

Splat Z Intelligence and drive is unequally distributed and as a result wealth is! Go figure!
