Horne of plenty: Scotland young gun tames Pumas

-

The Scotland coach Gregor Townsend was full of praise for his young half-backs George Horne and Adam Hastings following the 44-15 demolition of Argentina in Resistencia.

Horne, who scored two tries, and Adam Hastings, who helped make both of them, were outstanding in what was the Scots’ record win on Argentine soil.

“There was about a 140cap difference between the two sets of half-backs and they are quality players in the Argentinian team, Landajo and Sanchez, I love watching them play,” Townsend said. “That was a huge challenge for our guys on their second starts for Scotland but they played with so much positivity, they went for gaps they knew were there, so that shows they were confident. It was really encouraging for the future.”
