Lineker defends his right to swear
Gary Lineker, the host of the BBC’S World Cup football coverage, has defended his right to swear on Twitter, explaining that it “adds emphasis” to his sporting analysis.
The former England striker, has anchored the broadcaster’s flagship Match of the Day programme since 1999.
He was responding to those who took offence to his foulmouthed missives. He wrote: “I like swearing as it adds emphasis occasionally. On Twitter you can always unfollow if a few letters put together to form a word offends you.”
