Foreign workers name London as top location

- By SCOTT REID

London has been ranked the most desirable city in the world to work, while the UK has dropped down to fifth in the country standings, a survey today reveals.

The UK capital took top spot as the most desirable location for overseas workers worldwide, beating New York, Berlin and Barcelona.

However, in the four years since the first study was undertaken by the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and Totaljobs, the UK has dropped three places in overall attractiveness, from second to fifth in the country rankings.

London has retained its position as number one since 2014, whenitwasrankedthetopdestination by more than 200,000 workers from 189 countries. This time the poll was taken among 366,000 workers from nearly 200 countries.

Mike Booker at Totaljobs said: “While the UK may have lost some of its lustre, London remains the number one destination for talent worldwide post-brexit.”
