‘Thirsty work’ as police clean up spill

-

Traffic police in West Lothian have been forced to clean up 40 kegs of beer that spilt from a lorry. The alcohol slid off as the lorry was leaving the motorway about 3:15pm yesterday.

The accident happened on the M8 westbound at Junction 4A, near Whitburn.

About 21 tonnes of beer was recovered before the road was reopened.

Road Policing Scotland tweeted the clean-up was “thirsty work” for officers on one of the hottest days of the year.
