China lifts ban on importing UK beef
China has lifted its longstanding ban on British beef in a move that officials said would be worth £250 million to UK producers in the first five years alone.
The Chinese government imposed a ban on beef exported from the UK more than 20 years ago in the wake of the BSE outbreak, known as mad cow disease. Site inspections have led to the ban being lifted. n Winning numbers in last night’s Lotto draw were 4, 41, 45, 54, 57 and 58, with bonus ball 26.
