World’s fattest hedgehog given exercise regime

A hedgehog believed to be the world’s fattest has been handed into an Aberdeenshire rescue centre.

The animal, weighing in at 5lbs, has been put on a strict diet and exercise regime.

The hedgehog, nicknamed Arbuckle, could hardly walk or pull itself into a defensive ball.

Keith Marley, from The New Arc Animal Rescue Centre near Ellon, said: “He’s about the size of a World Cup football.”
