Member of boat crew missing as search launched

A man reported missing from a ferry overnight has been identified as a member of the boat’s crew.

Alistair Gibson, known as Charlie, was last seen on the Lerwick-bound MV Hjaltland about 9:10pm on Wednesday.

The Northlink Ferries service left Aberdeen at 7pm.

Searches are continuing for Mr Gibson, 58, from Orkney. He is described as 5ft 7’ and slim, with short, balding dark hair.
