Inquiry launched on land ownership

A Holyrood committee has launched a probe into new regulations designed to make land ownership in Scotland more transparent. The environment, climate change and land reform committee is seeking views on proposed regulations to reduce the secrecy surrounding who owns what.

The rule changes have been introduced amid concerns the current system is not sufficiently transparent, particularly in identifying people with a controlled interest in a piece of land.
