Two-car crash in Lanarkshir­e sees three in hospital

A woman driver suffered serious head injuries and two OAPS were taken to hospital after a serious road crash near Motherwell.

Detectives say they are still probing Thursday’s accident in Stonehouse.

They said a Nissan Juke being driven eastbound by a 54-year-old woman just before 4pm on the A71 Stonehouse bypass near to Lockhart Street when it was in collision with a Renault Captur being driven by a 62-year-old woman.

Both were kept in hospital while a 64-year-old male passenger was treated for whiplash and released.
