The Institute for Economic Affairs has called on Britain to follow Canada and parts of the United States and decriminalise the Class B drug.
Cannabis is not an addictive drug, is not carcinogenic, and is a treatment for a lot of conditions, so why not legalise it, a lot of states in the USA are doing so. Perhaps the same controls as alcohol.
Britishandinscotland Amsterdam still has problems with pimps and drugs. They have legalised prostitution and cannabis use. So there is proof that
legalising it will not make the illegal trade disappear. There is no rational reason to legalise this drug.
I Know You Know Do we really want to see dopeheads on our streets and out in society legally stoned out of their minds, behind the wheels of cars etc? It’s not as harmless as some would have us believe and can spark off lifelong mental illnesses.
Peter Mcgrouther Ordinary cannabis messes with your mind and stays in your system for a long time. The damage that it does can easily affect the rest of your life. Forty years ago I saw it hurt good people with lots of potential and I’m told that
today’s cannabis is much more powerful.
bramley I find it strange that as we strive to stop people smoking and we legislate alcohol prices to reduce significant health and lifestyle problems, we simultaneously can propose to legalise a drug with stronger and longerlasting problems.
