Car dealer inks insurance deal

A Glasgow-based car dealer has teamed up with an internatio­nal insurance company to offer enhanced services for its classic car range.

Peter Vardy Heritage, part of Peter Vardy Group, partnered with specialist classic car insurers Hagerty Internatio­nal to create a more tailored service for their vintage vehicle customers.

Group chief executive Peter Vardy said: “Hagerty is the leading agency for classic and collector vehicles in the world and host to the largest network of collector car owners, so it is with great anticipati­on that our prestige brand is looking forward to working so closely with the company.

“Hagertyint­ernational­isrun by people who actively have a passion for classic cars and who have a shared and common interest with owners.

“Their bespoke policies will be of immediate interests to our clients and we look forward to introducin­g their services.”

In addition to their Edinburgh-based heritage branch, the group, which was founded by Vardy in 2006 and has 922 partners, operates six Vauxhall dealership­s in Aberdeen, Perth, Motherwell, Fife, Kirkcaldy, and Edinburgh.

The company also runs five prestige dealership­s and two indoor used car showrooms Carstore branches. Although based in Michigan, Hagerty Internatio­nal is a global company founded by two insurance agents with a keen interest in vintage boats and classic cars.

The firm specialise­s in providing insurance cover and valuation services for veteran and historic cars.

Marketing director Marcus Atkinson said: “This alliance will allow us to expand our presence north of the Border and become active and engaged with the Peter Vardy Heritage brand.
