Chocolate tops teacher gift poll

-

A sack of potatoes, half-drunk bottles of wine and stolen car radios and jewellery are among the gifts teachers have received in thanks for educating the nation’s children, according to a survey.

According to the Mumsnet poll, 90 per cent of teachers receive “sweet treats” from pupils at the end of the school year, while 79 per cent were gifted by a personal note or card from a child.

But other gifts included aftershave given to a female worker, a part-drunk bottle of wine and a bag of potatoes.
